This Web Site has been Officially Opened for a little while now so it's time for some upgrading.
Below you will find links to my hockey songs. Hockey songs you say! Yep..., I entered a contest to write an anthem for Hockey Night in Canada. As hockey is a big part of Canada's history and Hockey Night in Canada is a big part of that hockey history, well... they needed an anthem as they lost the one they had so I thought I would throw my hat into the ring so to speak.
Here are my Hockey Anthem Challenge Songs:

My full name is Mark Allan Wright but I am going with Mark Allan for my fifteen minutes of fame. It's what my mother would exclaim when she was upset with me and as I have heard it a few times in my life I believe it just sounds better of course it may depend on who's exclaiming it.
Music has always been a passion of mine. Singing along to the radio a favorite pastime. I have always wanted it to be my mainstay (main income that is) in life but it's not easy getting into the music business and my dad wanted me to get a regular job so that's what I did but I was never truly happy with it and it led me down a path that I wouldn't want any man to have to take. Not following my dreams caused me great hardship and it would have been far easier to have told my dad to keep his day job and that I was going to follow my heart, so to speak. Of course, back then, I didn't know that it would have been far easier to follow my dreams, no matter how hard it got, as not following my dreams just gave me grief.
It's funny how things work though, I don't think I could have ever written some of the songs I have if I hadn't had that hardship. I also wouldn't know what it takes to be healthy in this polluted world of processed food and contaminated air and water. I don't want to preach to anyone here but being healthy is a good thing and it has helped me a lot in producing my music. As a matter of fact if it hadn't been for a certain thing I did, health wise, I wouldn't be doing what I am doing in regards to my music. That is a story though that I will leave for a later time.
Right now I live in the country because that's where my heart is and because I like to breathe cleaner air. The Blue Background you are looking at here is the Beautiful Alberta Sky right where I live and if you expand your browser window you might even see a wisp of white cloud in the bottom right corner. I really love this new digital world we live in where you can be looking up at a beautiful blue sky one moment and the next you can have a picture of it on your web site to share with the world. It's where country and technology can meet and live in harmony although that isn't always the case.
I had put down my guitar for many years and it was a good day when I picked it up again. It's because I had to take a healthier road in life that I was able to start writing songs. From my first completed song, Lookin at the Moon, to now, where when I get an inspiration and can have a song written in short order, I am so much happier, even though that old wolf at the door is threatening to come in, I am somehow keeping him at bay. Of course that's where my songs come in. I hope to make a living with them. I have received such great response from people so it's time I brought them to you, the public. It's great this new technology that allows me to do this. I thank those people who have worked hard to develop it.
My first CD is called Pickin Up Dimes (Release Date - October 9th, Canadian Thanksgiving Day, 2006). It deals a lot with the Trials and Tribulations of my life. Pickin Up Dimes has a special meaning of which I am not going to tell you right now as I am planning on having a contest for people to guess what it stands for. I need to sell a few Cds to make that happen and it is starting to take hold.
I started with my Pickin Up Dimes CD but by the time I got a few songs recorded I had written a lot more songs so I now have two CDs on the go and a third in the making. Pickin Up Dimes , Lost Loves and Living in the Country (Coming in the not too distant future.) are my first three CDs. It has taken a lot of work but I'm loving it and I really appreciate the response I am getting from people when they hear certain songs. It seems everyone has his or her own favorites.
Lookin at the Moon is a general favorite while Muscle Car, High Horse, Coming to San Diego, I Get It, Rock and a Hard Place, Another World and all the others get much response from people.
There will be some Free Songs here in MP3 format as well as a couple of songs I wrote to help the Katrina, Tsunami and Earth Quake Survivors. My CDs
Pickin Up Dimes - A while in the making this album comes from the heart of the trials and tribulations in my life. The term Pickin Up Dimes has a significant meaning that I will not share with you at this moment as there will be a contest in the future.
The Album itself is about overcoming hardships of which I have been through a few and I know that many of you have been through them too. It's amazing how when you talk about your hardships how many other people have been in the same boat. It's also about little idiosyncrasies between men and women as in the song Muscle Car .

Lost Loves - This Album came about sort of by accident. I was putting together the Pickin Up Dimes Album and while it was taking it's time I came up with a lot more ideas for songs. So a few more songs came into being.
Then one day, in talking to a friend (Lois), she inspired the thought to make another CD, as I had too many songs for one CD and some where a different type of song that didn't necessarily match the theme of Pickin Up Dimes. The Title of this CD sort of says it all. We have all lost the love of someone we thought we loved and we didn't necessarily know why. They just decided to move on. As depicted in the songLookin at the Moon maybe we just loved them too much and it scared them off. Whatever the reason they left and we were broken hearted. Love can be the best thing in the world and it can also be the worst.

Release Date: Not Long Now. The songs have been sent to final mixing.
Living in the Country - I have lived in the country most of my life and to me it's the only place to live. The city is a nice place to visit but the peaceful solitude of the country is what appeals to me. If I am within a decent driving distance from the city then I can go there whenever I get the urge, which doesn't come that often. This CD is dedicated to that country life that just can't be beat.

You know it can get a little cold in the country and here is something a friend of mine is doing to help keep people warm during the cold winter months. Kimbers Creations
